Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
We never take, ask for, or store photos of you. Try-ons happen on professional virtual models — not on your body — so there are no face photos and no biometrics, ever.
You give us: an email, your height and weight, a skin-tone swatch you pick from a palette, and photos of your clothes. We use them to run DressMeSo — and for nothing else. We don’t sell your data. We never ask your ethnicity.
1. Who we are
DressMeSo (“DressMeSo,” “we,” “us”) is operated by [DressMeSo LLC — legal entity name pending], based in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Questions or requests: privacy@dressmeso.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account: your email address and a password (handled by our authentication provider; we never see or store your password itself), or your Google account identity if you sign in with Google.
- Fit profile: your height, weight, and birth year, which you type in. We use these to suggest fitting models and to verify you meet our age requirement.
- Skin-tone swatch: a color you select from a fixed 24-swatch palette. It powers your personal color-season analysis. It is never derived from a photo. Because a skin-tone selection can be considered sensitive information in some states, we treat it with heightened care: it is used only for your color analysis and is never shared or sold.
- Style preferences: the virtual model you choose, and the body shape and build you select in our survey. These are display preferences that control which model wears your outfits. We never ask for, infer, or store your ethnicity or race. Your model choice is yours — pick whoever you like.
- Closet photos: pictures of your clothing items. These should contain garments only — please don’t upload photos that include people or faces.
- Activity: your try-on renders, saved looks, monthly usage counts, and purchase history (when paid plans launch), plus routine technical logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps, error reports) needed to run and secure the service.
3. What we deliberately do not collect
- No photos of you. Outfits are rendered on DressMeSo’s own virtual models. The standard service has no camera step and no upload of personal imagery at all.
- No biometric identifiers or biometric information as defined by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) or similar laws — no face geometry, no scans, no templates. If we ever offer an optional “try it on my own photo” feature, it will be strictly opt-in and preceded by its own separate, explicit written consent.
- No precise location.
- No ethnicity, race, or demographic classifications.
4. How we use your information
To operate DressMeSo: render try-ons of your garments on your chosen model, compute your color season, manage your closet and lookbook, enforce monthly try-on allowances, process payments (via Stripe, when subscriptions launch), respond to support requests, keep the service secure, and improve how features work. We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
5. Service providers
We share data only with processors that run the service for us, under contracts limiting their use of it:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage (your profile, closet photos, and saved looks live here, encrypted at rest).
- fal.ai / FASHN — the AI rendering engine. It receives the image of our virtual model and your garment photo to produce a try-on image. It never receives your name, email, profile, or any photo of a person you uploaded (you didn’t upload any).
- Vercel and Railway — web and API hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing when paid plans launch. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see your full card number.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or as part of a business transaction (in which case this policy continues to apply).
6. Affiliate links
Some garments link to third-party retailers. If you buy through those links, DressMeSo may earn a commission. Retailers’ sites have their own privacy policies — what you do there is between you and them; we receive only anonymous purchase-attribution data from affiliate networks, never your payment details.
7. Cookies and local storage
We use essential browser storage to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. If we add product analytics, it will measure feature usage in aggregate and will not include your photos or profile details.
8. Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. Deleting your account removes your profile, closet photos, saved looks, and render history from our systems within 30 days (the grace window lets you change your mind by signing back in). Rendered try-on images of our virtual models contain no personal information and may persist in our render cache. Routine backups age out on a fixed schedule.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising them. We honor these requests for all users: email privacy@dressmeso.com or use the tools in Settings. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
10. Children
DressMeSo is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS); data is encrypted at rest; access to your rows is enforced at the database level; and API keys for our AI providers never leave our servers. No system is perfectly secure — if a breach affects you, we will notify you as required by law.
12. Changes
We will post updates here and revise the date above. For material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
